2020's Message & Video
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cancel this year’s IDD Awareness Event in March and are unable to reschedule at this time.
In an effort to pay tribute to the event and keep the spirit of neighborhood and community alive, we reached out to our community asking individuals to submit short videos or pictures to be displayed and shared within an IDD Awareness Tribute Video. Our hope is to allow for everyone to reconnect during this time of social distancing.
The video is complete, and it can be viewed here (click to go to video). It can also be viewed and shared on our Facebook page here (click to go to our Facebook page). Thank you to all participants. Also, thank you to Chris James for putting the video together.
We are looking forward to the 2021 IDD Awareness Month and our annual event. Keep checking back for updates as plans come together.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our yearly event.

Ann Forts Speaker Event Ann Forts is a popular, nationally recognized motivational speaker and advocate for the needs and rights of people with disABILITIES, especially those with mental disabilities. The primary focus of her speeches is to help people understand that there definitely is an “UP” side to life with Down Syndrome…which she prefers to call “UP” Syndrome. Ann created the concept of “UP” Syndrome to redefine, in a positive way, the image of mental disabilities and to focus on the “ABILITY” portion of the word, disability. |
